I grew up in Southern California and mostly bounced back and forth between North and South for education and training. I’m a Pediatrician and worked at Kaiser South straight out of residency having multiple roles and working in multiple clinical settings. I was actually the doctor for several students who have come through California North State. My favorite thing about being a Med Skills preceptor by far is the students and trying to have some influence on the next generation of physicians.

Endocrinology
I grew up in Wellesley, MA. My father, a rheumatologist who loves caring for patients and teaching medicine, inspired me to become a physician. I met my future husband, who was a winemaker, at Williams College and followed him to Napa, CA. I had a rewarding career as an endocrinologist at Kaiser Vallejo, and we raised two daughters. The eldest is a classicist at the Getty in LA and the younger graduated from Tufts School of Medicine this year and is an intern at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her experiences helped me better understand the experience of being a medical student in the 2020s. Teaching future doctors in Med Skills and as Endocrinology Course Director is fun and meaningful- each day you challenge me and I learn something new!
